What should you do when you get a “phishing” email or end up on a scam website? Hopefully, the information I’ll be putting in today’s blog will assist you and help show who to report the scam to, or how you can track down the scammers yourself and work to help shut down their scam-collecting ways, at least temporarily. We’ve seen scams targeting eBay, PayPal your banks and more.

Sometimes, scammers try to scare you by saying your account is in arrears, or your account needs updating, and you think to yourself, I better follow this through!

NO bank. Paypal Ebay or any other company will ever ask you for personal information in an email OR ask for your password!!!!!

First and most importantly, if you’re unsure if an email from Paypal or anyone else you use your banking numbers online, do not click it open.

You should only follow these steps if you have some experience with web and email issues.Look at the html source of the email message or the web form.
In the html code, look for
tag and see where the form results are being sent.

The form will probably look something like this:

<form action="/cgi-bin/FormMail.cgii"

If the form action starts with "http://..." then the results are being processed on a separate server.

You will also want to look for a hidden field below the tag that will look something like this:

This is the email address that will receive the results of the form.

A legitimate email from Paypal will start with https:
same as with bank or ebay or any secure company you log in with. all start with https:

But to be safest-never log in from an email you recieve. Go directly to your bank’s site, Paypal’s site etc and log in from there. If there is a transaction it will appear once you’ve done your secure log-in.

Very Important! If you have clicked any links via email and have entered your password or any other personal information and feel you have been duped follow these instructions.

If you move fast you might be able to head off the use of some of your information.

Change Your Password

If you filled out one of these scam forms and entered any password information – change it immediately.

While you’re logged into your account, check your transaction history, if possible, to see if there are any fraudulent entries.

Contact the Company

Call or email the fraud department of the company involved and let them know that your account might be compromised.

Call Your Bank and Credit Card Companies

You should call to see if any fraudulent transactions have shown up and to possibly arrange for new cards or accounts.

Is That It?

If you entered your Social Insurance/Security Number, Date of Birth, Address, etc into the form, you will need to follow these steps to avoid being a potential victim of identity theft.

You can forward any suspicious emails to paypal, your bank and ebay.
spoof@paypal.com
spoof@ebay.com
and whichever bank you deal with, they will have information where to send the suss emails.

Many scammers are getting much cleverer. They use your real name and address the emails to you now. That is one way people are being caught out!

It’s worth taking the time to log in through your Paypal site etc…do not trust any links in your emails.

Routinely review your statements

Review your bank and credit card statements monthly for unexplained charges or inquiries that you didn’t initiate.

Make sure you use up to date email software with anti-phishing capabilities.

Install up-to-date antivirus and antispyware software.

Sounds like a lot-but you need to keep yourself safe.

and remember-you will never really win a million pounds from anyone in Nigeria (or anywhere else in the world for that matter)

Nothing is for free-and if someone is offering you something to good to be true-DELETE them!

I hope this has helped understand phishing and how to stop it from hurting you!

For a beginning Tarot reader, it may seem quite a decision as to which deck to choose. There are so many to pick from. Many are designed from books, legends, mythology and mythical beings.

The Tarot is a great tool for guidance and advice, as well as solving problems. Each Tarot card has a meaning of its own, and as you learn the cards and get to know them better, you’ll become a more effective reader. Anybody can learn to read Tarot cards, but it does take some practice. It’s a highly intuitive process, so while books and charts come in handy, the best way to actually learn what your cards mean is to handle them, hold them, and feel what they are telling you.

If you’re unsure of which Tarot deck is for you, look closely at the images of each deck you’re interested in. Sometimes you get a feeling that ‘this’ deck is calling out to you. Maybe you like the artwork on a specific deck. Purchase a few different Tarot sets that appeal to you and try each one. Each deck will give you different ideas and as you learn the Tarot, you’ll learn you have more information that you can work with. Once you know what you want, and where you want to go in your mind, you’ll be able to choose the one deck that suits you best.

Tarot is a feeling art. You can experience spiritual growth with the right Tarot cards for yourself. So based on my personal experience I would say find a deck that appeals to you and work with that for a while. Later on you may find another deck that will add to your knowledge..

These cards can give you practical insights on what helps keep a relationship strong, how to work with problems, and how to foster aliveness in love.

Oracle Cards:
Oracle cards are a tool that can help you improve communication, deal with issues, explore dreams, and reawaken vitality of connection.
The concept of oracle cards is similar to that of traditional Tarot cards. They are cards that are meant to provide the user with insight and guidance, usually from a higher source. This is often referred to as the higher self, a higher power or the Divine.

Oracle cards differ from Tarot cards in that they are not divided into suits or Major and Minor Arcana

Each card speaks about an essential ingredient for a rewarding relationship. Taking this information to heart can help you stay on a positive track. Using Oracle Cards to Promote Positiv feelings. You may even find it to be an oracle that helps you manifest your most heartfelt needs.

Are you looking for outstanding fairies and angels and quality giftware? Then look no further ! Fairy Magyk is the place you want!

As a believer in all things magical and mythical I found a lot of enjoyment in my personal fairy collection. I believe that seeing the gorgeous details and intricate work that goes into so many of the paintings and statues, can inspire feelings that makes one wish that fairies were real. Fairies have a way of putting a smile on your face. I get such pleasure looking at the works of fairy artists, and inspiration to do my own sketches and paintings. It brings escapism from the every day bad news that’s plastered in our TV news and papers. Fantasy is a nice place to visit from time to time. Some people like dragons, some people like unicorns. Does it matter what they believe in or hope for if it brings to them a sense of magic in their lives?
.
Fairy Magyk can help bring the magic to you with the fantastic fairy, angel, mermaid and other mystical beings figurines from many talented artists, including; Christine Haworth, Amy Brown, Jessica Galbreth, Jody Bergsma, Linda Ravenscroft, Nene Thomas, Selina Fenech and Sheila Wolk.

You will also find superbly crafted angels including the Angel Whispers Collection by Christine Haworth and Nemesis Now.
Dragons by Dragonsite and Nemesis Now. Carousels, Snowglobes, Books, Mousemats and also Jewellery (including designs by Peter Stone).

Fairy Magyk has prices that beat the high street’s over inflated prices and offer their customer’s a 100% satisfaction guarantee on their purchase(s). Every single item in Fairy Magyk has been personally selected as if each one is for me personally. I enjoy giving people a little bit of magyk, and knowing they will enjoy their purchases makes me feel good about the fairies I do select to sell.

Fairy Magyk is for you, the customer. And without you, there would be no Fairy Magyk

I’ve just returned from seeing the film New Moon and by all accounts, New Moon is reasonably true to the book. I think that Catherine Hardwicke would have done a better job directing New Moon then Chris Weitz. Something was missing.

I have to add, that unless you read the book, you may not understand what’s happening.

It was nice to see the two main character’s, Bella and Edward on the screen again, but even nicer to see Jacob transform into a buff young man who’s fallen for Bella and will fight for her affection. Never mind that she teases him and leads him on in her quest get over her loss of Edward.
There’s definitely chemistry between the 3 main characters.

There are some small pleasures to be found in New Moon, not the least of which is the relationship between Bella and Jacob. It’s effectively developed and nicely played, and the revelation that Jacob is a werewolf doesn’t come across as absurd as it could.

The special effects with the wolf transformations were all right, but I couldn’t help but chuckle at the smeared lipstick Edward was wearing on closeups.

New Moon had no real surprises. The diehard Twilight fans will appreciate the way in which the book has been brought to the screen. If one hasn’t read the series, they may lose interest in the story quickly. The film does what it needs to do. That’s the bottom line. Anyone who doesn’t experience a rush of excitement at the thought of another Twilight movie would be better off seeing something else.

It wasn’t long ago that I posted about a Fairy Cute Disney Film – Tinkerbell. Well in the same Disney style there’s a new DVD – Tinkerbell And The Lost Treasure.

Here are my thoughts about this movie

This film is absolutely delightful. Tinkerbell is back for a whole new season of adventure. . Pixie Hollow is all abuzz with preparations for autumn and Tinkerbell is hard at work on her latest invention when she is unexpectedly summoned by Queen Clarion and the Minister of autumn. Tinkerbell fears that she’s in trouble again, but is instead delighted to find out that Fairy Mary has recommended her for the important job of creating a one-of-a-kind scepter that will focus the light of an unusual blue harvest moon through a rare moonstone in order to replenish the pixie dust tree’s supply of pixie dust. Tinkerbell gladly rises to the challenge, accepting her dust-keeper friend Terrence’s offers of help, but as the days fly rapidly by, pressure begins to build and Tinkerbell becomes annoyed by Terrence’s constant attention.

Sending Terrence away on an errand seems like a good idea, but what he brings back inadvertently causes the almost finished scepter and the incredibly rare moonstone to break into pieces. Tinkerbell lashes out at Terrence and then departs alone on a desperate quest to fix the moonstone. What Tinkerbell learns on her journey is that she must take responsibility for her own actions and that the power and value of true friendship is much greater than she’d ever imagined. Like the first Tinkerbell, the colors and clarity of animation are simply breathtaking in this production.

Tinkerbell and the Lost Treasure is a perfectly entertaining movie that will delight children ages 3 and up as well as adults. :-)
The character’s voices include Mae Whitman, Kristin Chenoweth, Jane Horrocks, Anjelica Huston, Jesse McCartney, and Raven-Symone. –Tami Horiuchi

The book is hard covered, and the cover is graced by one of my all time favourite Fairies – “The Marked One” set into a forest green colour. There are 112 gold trimmed pages in “Enchanted” and every single page is alive with one of Linda’s Fairies.

With every word read in Enchanted, you can feel Linda’s inspirations. I can hear her soft, musical voice whispering “Freedom to fly!”

Linda puts her heart and soul into her work and she brings such magic into the world of faeries with her expression of art.

Enchanted is a book for every single person who believes, and if you were unsure Fairies existed, once you sit back and take in every single page of Linda’s book, you will have no doubts that Fairies DO exist!

Who believes in fairies? Are you looking for something entertaining for a fairy tea party or just something that will make you feel warm and fuzzy?

Tinkerbell is the DVD that will do the trick.

Every once in awhile there comes a story so familiar and yet unexplored, that you can’t help but wonder why it took so long to be told. Tinker Bell is one of Disney’s most beloved characters and yet her story has never been fully shared, that is until now. “Tinker Bell” is the latest direct to DVD animated film from Disney. While many of the direct to DVD titles from Disney are decent enough, they often lack something special, something magical, something that has garnered Disney a place amongst great storytellers. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that Tinker Bell is one of the strongest Disney direct-to-DVD films in recent memory.

from Current Films.

“Tinker Bell” begins with the narrator sharing how fairies are born, The first time that a baby laughs, a fairies life takes flight. And from there the story, too, takes flight as we watch the wind carry a bit of a dandelion all the way to Pixie Hollow where Queen Clarion (Anjelica Huston) and the rest of the fairies gather to see what new fairy will arrive. With some pixie dust, the dandelion seed becomes Tinker Bell (Mae Whitman). From there, Tinker Bell must learn her talent, so that she may become part of the fairy community. Turns out, Tinker Bell is a tinker, a fairy that makes things in order to help all the other fairies achieve their goals and bring the seasons to pass.

Tinker Bell is initially taken with the idea of being a tinker and having a place in the fairy world. She meets two energetic tinkers, Bobble (Rob Paulsen) and Clank (Jeff Bennett) who take her around to see how things work, like fairies painting leaves and painting dots on lady bugs. Her new friends introduce her to some of the springtime fairies: Rosetta (Kristin Chenoweth), Fawn (America Ferrera), Silvermist (Lucy Liu), and Iridessa (Raven-Symon) who gladly show her what they do and tell her how they gather elements of spring to take to the mainland. When Tinker Bell hears about the mainland, she is instantly determined to go along. There’s only one little problem, Tinkers don’t go to the mainland, they stay behind and create the objects that ensure the other fairies can get to the mainland on time to bring seasons change.

Tinker Bell runs into trouble with Vidia, a fairy who does a little bit of everything for every season. Vidia instantly doesn’t like Tinker Bell and tries at any chance she can to sabotage the new fairy. She tells Tinker Bell she doesn’t do anything special, which only ignites Tinker Bell’s desire to do more with herself and prove that tinkers are special. She decides that she must go to the mainland to prove it. While flying about, bitter from her encounter with Vidia, Tinker Bell discovers pieces of human items on a beach. Bubble and Clank tell her that they’re lost things that come from the mainland to Neverland. Before she can fiddle with them, the tinkering expert, Fairy Mary (Jane Horrocks) takes them away not realizing what they may be worth.

With spring approaching, Queen Clarion is coming to review all the preparations, which means the fairies have a chance to make a good impression. This gives Tinker Bell the idea to invent something so wonderful that she will prove to the Queen and Vidia that she is special. Unfortunately for Tinker Bell, her plans go awry. Determined she’s not just a tinker, she sets off to have her new friends Rosetta, Fawn, Silvermist and Iridessa teach her how to do what they do so that she can prove she’s worthy of going to the mainland.

The spring fairies try to help her, but Tinker Bell can’t quite get the hang of it. She wanders off discouraged and once again finds ‘lost things’. She puts the items together enthusiastically only to discover she’s fixed a jewelry box. The spring fairies see what she’s done and tell her that she really is a tinker, after all she was tinkering with those parts and made something beautiful. But Tinker Bell refuses to listen and seeks help from her last hope, Vidia. Vidia, of course, leads her in the wrong direction. Tinker Bell only ends up causing more damage, resulting in the entire springtime square being destroyed. Without the items gathered for spring, there can be no Spring.

As Tinkerbell sits alone, she finds the lost things Fairy Mary took and begins tinkering with them. Before long, she has a plan to save Spring. The other fairies hear her plan and rally around her, working together with Tinker Bell’s new inventions that integrate pieces of nature and items from the mainland in hopes of saving Spring.

All of the talented voice work here is light and energetic and wonderfully portrayed. Bradley Raymond’s direction offers several touching and beautiful moments. The ending is especially moving, tying the story of Tinker Bell and Peter Pan together with subtlety and charm. The inventions in Tinker Bell are rather clever and the fairy homes and Pixie Hollow are marvelously imagined and brought to life. The art design of the film is truly stunning from beginning to end. While the look of the fairies are charming, it’s the design of their habitats and the items they use to create seasons that truly add to this film. It’s wonderful how the story isn’t just about Tinker Bell, but about the importance of seasons and the role they play in our lives. Tinker Bell is a truly imaginative story with lots of elements that add to its abundance of charm and that little something you always hope for with Disney – magic.

“Tinkerbell” is simply magical, and I guarantee that you will fall in love with Tink and her Fairy friends. The film is so colourful and full of fairy sparkle!

According to one dictionary, a Fairy is an imaginary being who is supposed to have magical powers.
A faery is a small being that has wings such as butterfly wings, dragonfly wings etc..
Fairies are said to have magical powers, such as the ability to change the seasons, weather, or other features of nature. Where did the word “Fairy” come from?

Fairy comes from Faerie (French) Faerie comes from Fa’ae (Gallic) Fa’ae comes from Fata (Latin, meaning the fates) Fa’ae or fae or fay all mean about the same thing: a group of special magical beings that look a little human with powers that go from good to evil.

The Fairy Handbook tells us that most fairies are delightful magical spirits with likenesses and kinship to flowers, insects, and other small creatures. Fairies are problem solvers, helpers, fixers, and protectors of nature. They get along well with gnomes and most other living things. Fairy spirits are given to select girls at the moment of their birth. When they are old enough to handle the responsibility that comes with being a fairy, young girls are told about their fairy spirits, and are guided by fairy mentors (usually older fairies) to learn how to use their powers and gifts in accordance with their job as fairies.

At Fairy MagykFairy Magyk you’ll find many types of fairies that will suit your fairy personality. From Christine Haworth’s beautiful “Faerie Poppets”
to Jessica Galbreth’s dark and romantic Faeries.

Honest sellers on eBay face new hurdles and pitfalls as new changes have gone into effect making it impossible for a seller to leave a negative for a buyer.

eBay has also started to count neutrals as negatives and eBays DSR ratings are worded in such a way it makes it look as 4 stars is good enough to leave your seller when in reality, the lower the star, the worse off it will be for your seller as he/she faces impending suspension from eBay.

I believe eBay has to get rid of the seller who treats a decent buyer like rubbish and charges ridiculous postage (circumventing eBay fees) and gives a bad name in general to eBay.

However,

as Richard Ambrose, spokesman for eBay told the sellers on the Power Sellers Board, unfortunately the new rules will catch the good sellers much like dolphins getting caught in the net. Mr. Ambrose has done nothing in favour of helping those sellers who are getting negatives and neutrals from rogue buyers, he isn’t helping anyone recoup their final value fees from non paying buyers and smugly sits and watches the decent sellers flounder trying to keep their livelihood going in a market that is suddenly a feeding frenzy of rabid buyers who only sign up to hurt the sellers. In fact Mr. Ambrose has referred to the many complaints of decent, hard working sellers as “NOISE”.

eBay are fully aware of the downhill affect this is having on the sellers and tell the sellers to accept the negs that there’s nothing that can be done, knowing full well that these negs and neutrals are being left by vengeful buyers and people who have sad lives with nothing better to do than to go auction wreck someone’s sales.

It’s really sad that eBay have lost sight of who really pays the big bucks…the sellers..they pay listing fees, final value fees, shop fees and then some.

Sellers aren’t getting what they’ve paid for, not by a long shot. The listings are disastrous IF they even appear in searches. Sight visibilty sucks big time. Turbo lister and Selling Manager Pro (SMP) have such radical flaws in them that it’s a majour headache to use them these days.

Sellers were told they had to show a return time of 14 days for customers to return goods, and if the time wasn’t altered from 7 to 14 days the sellers would be in violation of eBay and government laws, so one is supposed to be able to do editing with SMP/Turbo Lister and after many sellers spent hours, and some even days trying to adjust this 14 day return policy, it just wouldn’t edit. A lot of sellers had to unlist items they had already paid to list before the changes, and pay AGAIN to list the items with the new 14 day policy. Ebay didn’t and wont reduce their fees for the glitches that affect the sellers yet they are just waiting to ‘bag’ a seller for a violation.

If sellers write to eBay’s Customer Service regarding a SMP/TL problem they’re usually replied to with a letter that is obviously copied and pasted from an eBay book, or told constantly to “Clear your cache.” eBay never admits to their technical flaws, and certainly doesn’t refund a seller any money for their lost listings.

The changes to eBay during the past few months have been dramatic. eBay sellers have responded to these changes by posting negative You-Tube videos, blogs, articles, posts, organizing boycotts and sharing their negative experiences with both eBay and PayPal.

Sellers are leaving eBay and finding other selling venues such as Amazon, Ebid and even their own web shops.

One of the worst blows is that eBay will only allow sellers to accept Paypal now. Paypal will withhold funds from sellers until they recieve a positive feedback/or just hold the payments from sellers for a period of time to help ensure that the transactions go smoothly. That is just another way for Paypal to make money. While they’re “holding” money for goods that have been sent, they will make interest on our money.

eBay used to be a place many of us looked forward to trading on. Now every day many of us dread what we’ll find when we log in.

I thought I’d share my opinions of a very magical film called Stardust.
Since Fairy Magyk sells fairies, angels and other mystical creatures, I thought it would be nice if everytime I saw a film that pertained to anything magical, to share my views with everyone.

Stardust was an absolutely delightful film. The story is pure magic and although most ‘fairy tales’ are for children, Stardust is a film for almost anyone aged 8 and up.

Tristan is the son of Dunstan and the slave of an old witch called Ditchwater Sal who travels about in a caravan. The couple met after Dunstan snuck over ‘The Wall’ that leads to an enchanted land, and there he meets the captured slave and they fall in love instantly. 9 months later Dunstan recieves a knock at the door and is handed a baby boy in a wicker basket. Unfortunately, when Tristan was born, the captive slave was not allowed to keep him and instead sent him to live with his father. She put in his basket a “Babylon candle”, and a letter to Tristan explaining everything.

The story then jumps eighteen years to Tristan as a young man, in love with the prettiest girl (and shallowest) named Victoria in a small English town (Wall Village). Victoria and Dunstan watch a star fall from the sky and Victoria tells Dunstan he has 1 week to bring her the star or she’ll marry another lad who’s been courting her. He is desperate to bring Victoria the fallen star by her birthday. He uses the candle to fly to where the star landed, which is not in England but a magical land called Stormhold. But then he discovers that the star is not what he expected. It is actually a beautiful, immortal and spirited woman named Yvaine. Despite this, Tristan is determined to marry Victoria and uses a silver chain that his father obtained after trying to free the princess to take Yvaine to England, promising to use the last of the magic candle to take her back to the sky afterwards.

However, Tristan is not the only one seeking the star. Yvaine is in terrible danger because the living sons of the King are looking for her because only the jewel that she carries can secure the throne to one of them. Septimus, one of the princes, later finds out that a star’s heart grants immortality so wants to devour her heart so that he can rule the kingdom forever. Additionally the three witches known as “The Lilim” — Mormo, Empusa and the eldest and the most powerful, Lamia want her because they want to recover their beauty and eternal youth.

As Tristan sets out to protect Yvaine and bring her back to his beloved at the other side of the wall his journey brings incredible encounters with the pirate Captain Shakespeare and a shady trader among others. Yvaine and Tristan fall in love. Yvaine confesses her feelings to Tristan after the witch Ditchwater Sal turns him into a mouse, Yvaine not realizing that he can still understand her.

After being changed back into a human Tristan is too exhausted from his transformation to continue the journey, and the two stop at an inn. Tristan tells Yvaine that he returns her love. While Yvaine sleeps, Tristan cuts a piece of her hair and goes back to England to tell Victoria that he no longer loves her. However when he tries to give Victoria the hair he finds that it has turned into stardust, or rock and he tells Victoria to grow up and then some. He realizes that Yvaine cannot enter England and stay in human form and hurries back to the other side of the wall to find her.

and that..is all you get because I wont spoil the ending.
There is some scenes that would be considered violent by some standards, the use of magic and witch craft and a lot of adventure.

The stars in this film are Michelle Pfeiffer, Claire Danes, Peter O’Toole, Charlie Cox, Robert De Niro and Ricky Gervais.

Most of the times, my customers are aware that there can be a huge difference between English Pounds and the American Dollar.
I just need to vent about this because I had someone ruin my feedback, and even admitted it was her fault for not knowing the exchange rates.
I’m very frustrated because I bend over backwards for my customers.

Those who aren’t sure, usually have the foresight to look at the latest currency exchange before making International purchases.

Then there are those who go blindly into a purchase, get their item, and their bill and see that they have paid $40.00 (give or take a few dollars and cents) for a £20.00 purchase.

I’m not a mind reader and unless the Customer asks me before their purchase about exchange rates, how can I know they don’t know what they are?

Those who purchase without researching are a bit shocked to see the difference when the bill arrives. Then instead of giving proper feedback for prompt delivery, the item being as described, and postage being more than fair (most times I take up the extra cost) the buyer leaves NEUTRAL feedback because the exchange rates were too high!

It is NOT the seller’s fault for the exchange rates! In fact so many sellers bend over backwards to help alleviate these costs by discounting some of the cost or postage, sometimes both.

Chalk it up to one of the downsides of selling to International Buyers.

Most times the International Buyers are brilliant and in full understanding of these exchange rates, but it’s that tiny majority that make a seller think twice about selling again internationally. If we stop, we may lose that one fantastic buyer who doesn’t leave unfair ratings and can be the best buyer we’ve ever had.

Connundrum, connundrum.

Our girl is back home where she belongs…FINALLY!!

No more doggie prison!

No more of me going to wash down and disinfect her walls and change her blankets to make sure she was dry and comfortable.

It was wonderful to see Casey go into the house wagging her tail as she took in her surroundings. She did exactly as I predicted..made a beeline for the sofa, jumped up onto it and then down as she spotted her sister Clipsey. She ran through the house and one could almost hear a “Wheeeeeeeeeeee I’m home!!”
Suddenly, as fast as she ran into the kitchen, she came to a grinding halt and starting barking and growling.
I was like..what the?? Then I burst out laughing because what Casey was barking at was my mannequin on the worktop. She had never seen it before and thought it was a strange person. It was too funny.

She didn’t even have to be told to come upstairs with Steve and I at bedtime. She ran up the stairs just as she always had and laid on her bed, and in the morning I woke up and there, in our bed sleeping like she always used to do was Casey. She always hopped into our bed when Steve left for work.

I really thought that after 6 long months that Casey would have to be re-taught but I am so happy to say I thought wrong!

And then I had a sad thought, did Casey, whilst in quarantine, have sad memories and hurt inside remembering she used to do that? It really bugs me to think my dog would have felt the lonliness and been homesick remembering what she had.

But thankfully it’s over for Casey now..she’s home where she belongs. God I’ve missed her.
